Back up your workspace and get data back when you need it

Mistakes happen — an app gets deleted by accident, or a risky change is coming up and you want a safety copy first. Sheetward keeps a way back for each of these, and everything lives in one place: the Data tab in the Admin Console.
Which safety net do you need?

Before you start
- Sign in to your workspace as an Admin.
- Click Admin Console, then open the Data tab.
Take a backup yourself (all plans)
A manual backup is a zip file of your workspace. Store it wherever you like — your laptop, a shared drive, anywhere. You can take one at any time, for example right before a big change.
- On the Data tab, click Backup workspace. You choose where to save the backup zip.
- On the Data tab, click Restore from file and pick the zip you saved to bring that data back later.
Let Sheetward back up for you (on plans that include it)
On higher tiers, Sheetward can take scheduled daily backups so nobody has to remember. Each backup becomes a restore point you can go back to.
- On the Data tab, turn on Automatic backup and choose how many days of backups to keep. Your plan sets the maximum.
- In the list of restore points, click Restore next to the one you want to roll back to.
- Before a risky change, click Backup Now to add an extra restore point right away.
Bring back a deleted app
Deleted apps are not gone straight away. They move to the recycle bin, where you can restore them for a limited time. After that window, they are removed for good.
Good to know
- A restore never deletes anything. It recreates apps without overwriting your live data, and it keeps apps and data you added after the backup.
- Every app also keeps a change history for each record, so you can see how a record changed over time. How long that history is kept is set in Housekeeping.
