Add another dashboard when you've reached your plan's limit

Updated Aug 9, 2026

Every dashboard in your app comes from a Report_ sheet in your App Specification workbook. Your plan allows a certain number of dashboards per app, and higher tiers allow more. If your workbook defines more dashboards than your plan allows, Sheetward refuses to create or change the app. That way you never end up with an app that only half-matches your workbook.

Check where you stand

  • On the Usage tab, see how many dashboards each app uses against your plan's cap.

Two ways to fix it

OptionWhat to doBest when
Trim the workbookRemove a Report_ sheet from your workbook, then upload it againOne dashboard is rarely used, or two can be combined
Upgrade your planIn Admin console → Plans, switch your workspace to a higher tier, then re-upload the workbookYour team relies on every dashboard

Good to know

  • The allowance counts dashboards per app, not across your whole workspace. An expense-claims app and a purchase-orders app each get the full allowance.
  • The Usage tab shows your plan's current cap alongside what each app uses.
  • After removing a Report_ sheet or upgrading, upload the workbook again — the change takes effect on the next create or change of the app.
