Invite your team and choose the right role for each person

Your apps get useful the moment your team is in them. Inviting someone takes under a minute, and the role you pick controls exactly what they can do. The finance lead who approves expense claims and the colleague who only reads the price list each get the right level of access.
Invite a team member
- In the Admin Console, open Users.
- Enter the person's email address.
- Choose their role — Admin, Builder, or Member.
- Send the invitation.
- They follow the emailed link, set a password, and join your workspace.
Only workspace admins can send invitations, because the Admin Console is visible to Admin users only.
Who can do what across the workspace?
A workspace role sets what a person can do across your whole workspace.

Who can do what inside one app?
Workspace roles and app roles are different things. A workspace role applies everywhere; an app role is set per app, by that app's App Owner. So a Member might be an Editor in your timesheet app and only a Viewer in the purchase-order app.

Some app roles are assigned automatically:
- Every Admin is an App Owner of every app in the workspace.
- A Builder is the App Owner of each app they created. Other App Owners can also make them an Owner of their apps.
Good to know
- By default, one person can be a Member or Builder in many workspaces but an Admin of only one. If you invite an existing admin to be an admin here too, the invitation is refused when you try to send it — unless your plan allows multiple workspaces. Invite them as a Member instead.
- Every workspace has one workspace Owner — a special kind of Admin who is the single point of contact for the workspace. The person who signs up for the workspace becomes its Owner.
- Workspace roles (Admin, Builder, Member) are not the same as app roles (Owner, Editor, Viewer). App roles are specific to each app and are assigned within that app.
