Display settings
Make Sheetward comfortable for your own eyes — your choices apply to you alone. Choose a mode (light, dark, or automatic, which follows your device), a brand color (four presets or a custom color), a text size, and a layout density (Comfortable / Standard / Compact). Changes show in the live preview first; Apply & Save makes them real. Your Display settings live on the main Sheetward (navbar menu). Every app follows them until you change something on that app's own Settings tab, which gives the app its own look; Reset to my settings there makes it follow again.
Here's each control on the Display card — what it changes and when to reach for it. The main Sheetward has its own Display card (top-right menu); every app has one on its Settings tab, so an app can look different from the rest.
- Form style — the shape of record forms and lists: Classic (boxed), Card (rounded, tinted headers), Compact (denser), Minimal (flat). Pick by taste; choose Compact or Minimal to fit more on screen.
- Record rows — how a records list separates one record from the next. Banded tints every other row (and every other tile) with a light wash of your accent colour, so your eye tracks straight across a wide table without losing its place; Plain keeps the flat look, with a thin dividing line only. Banded is the default; switch to Plain if you prefer a quieter screen or you print records lists often.
- Design style — an app-wide visual identity the app owner can set per app: Flat, Material, Fluent, Bauhaus, Neobrutalism, Retro Futurism, Cyberpunk, Glassmorphism, or Neomorphism. Which styles are available depends on the workspace plan; every app starts with the standard Sheetward look.
- Brand color — pick one of the four presets or any custom color. One color drives the whole system: Sheetward derives a matching secondary tone for structural elements, a contrasting accent for tags and highlights, and neutral grays that carry your color's undertone — in light and dark mode alike, with consistent contrast.
- Mode — Light, Dark, or Automatic (follows your device, switching at night). Use Automatic to match your system.
- Text size — Small to Extra large. Increase it for easier reading or when presenting on a big screen.
- Layout & comfort — Comfortable, Standard, or Compact spacing. Compact fits more rows on data-heavy screens; Comfortable adds breathing room.
- Language — the interface language. By default it follows the language you chose when signing in (English if you never chose one); pick German, Japanese or Arabic to see Sheetward in that language (saved for next sign-in). The default option reads
Default (sign-in language). - Region & number formatting — how dates, numbers, currency and percentages are shown (never the stored data). Use device default follows your browser's locale — or, if you set a home Country below, your language plus that country. Set it explicitly when your device's locale isn't how you want figures to appear.
- Regional defaults · Country — your home country; shapes country-aware fields (postal code, national ID, bank ID). Not set — follow the viewer follows your device (your browser/OS locale's country). A per-user setting: set it at the Sheetward level and every app follows it, or override it on one app. No shared app default.
- Regional defaults · Currency — your default currency for new currency fields. Not set — follow the viewer follows your device's currency. Per-user: set it at the Sheetward level for all your apps, or override it on one.
- AI support assistant — show or hide the floating helper that answers questions from the Knowledge Base. Hiding it is personal: it only affects your own screens. The setting appears only where your plan includes the assistant.
- Reset my apps to follow these settings — on Apply & Save, forgets each app's own look (and its regional defaults) so every app you can access follows these settings from then on. It's a one-shot: the switch turns itself off, and any app can still be customized individually afterwards.
A design style restyles the whole app — surfaces, buttons, inputs — while your accent color, light/dark mode and text size keep working exactly as before. The app owner sets the app's default style; every member can override it for themselves (or return to the standard look) from the same Display settings. Printed records always use the neutral print layout, whatever style is active — so a playful theme never reaches a customer-facing printout. You can also pick a style for the main Sheetward pages in your own Display settings; new apps start from it.
Your photo. On the main Sheetward Settings page, the Your account card (beside your Account ID) lets you upload a profile photo — PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 1 MB. It replaces the initials circle in the top-right user menu; Remove puts the initials back. The photo is yours alone: only you can see or change it, and it is never shown to other people in your workspace.
App icon. Give each app a face, so your team spots it at a glance in My Apps. If you own an app, its Settings tab has an App icon card with two ways to set one; either replaces the app's initials block on its tile and list row. Choose an icon from the built-in set (72 icons, grouped by business process, kind of business, and object). It is drawn in your brand color — it follows your accent, light/dark mode and the app's design style automatically. Or upload an image (PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 1 MB) when you want a real logo that keeps its own colors. An app has one icon: setting one clears the other. Members who can open the app see it; only an owner can change it, and standalone apps keep showing the initials.
Your display settings are yours alone — saved to your account and synced across the devices and browsers you sign in on. They are never shared with anyone else on the same computer. Gave some apps their own look and want everything back in step? Turn on “Reset my apps to follow these settings” on the main Sheetward's Display card and click Apply & Save. Each app's own look, language, region & number formatting and regional defaults (country, currency) are forgotten, so every app you can access follows these settings, now and whenever you change them. The switch turns itself off afterwards, and any app can be given its own look again.
